1941 – 1946

All four of Theodore E. Steinway’s sons serve in the military. Theodore D. “Teed” Steinway is on general Douglas MacArthur’s intelligence staff in South Pacific (stationed sequentially in New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines), Henry Z. Steinway is serving on counterintelligence duty at Governor’s Island in New York, John H. Steinway, in the Army Air Transport Command in North Africa and the Persian Gulf, and Frederick – near Japan as a lieutenant in the Navy.
