Henry Z. Steinway takes a plane from Hamburg to London. On the way from the airport, in a car, Henry Z. Steinway tells Lionel C. Squibb, Steinway & Sons’ London branch office manager, about the sale of the company to CBS. Lionel C. Squibb asks Henry Z. Steinway to keep the news secret from Steinway & Sons people in London for another day, since it would spoil the Friday evening welcoming party they prepared for him. Henry Z. Steinway attends the party and, without saying a word to anyone about the company being sold to CBS, leaves for New York in the morning.
