The Steinway & Sons Art Case grand piano “The Way of Our Ancestors”, a Model B grand piano with the case designed by Coast Salish artist Jody Broomfield, is unveiled at the Chief Joe Mathias Centre in North Vancouver, BC. The ceremony features a performance by Murray Porter of his composition “Remember Our Ancestors”, written specifically for the new piano. The piano will remain on public display at Tom Lee Music’s downtown Vancouver location at 929 Granville Street in the coming weeks, and will be later made available for select concerts and artist performances throughout British Columbia, will take part in the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, and then sold, with partial proceeds to benefit the British Columbia Lions Society for Children with Disabilities.
