William Steinway’s diary: “Have an exciting time with H. W. T. Steinway who has the most insane ideas on valuation and wants the expense of St. Hall not included in cost of pianos.” (Henry W.T.’s “insane ideas” are oddly reminiscent of those of his uncle, C.F Theodor).
