  • In the same issue of New York World, Steinway & Sons adds a short message, stating that Ignacy Jan Paderewski has no contract with Steinway & Sons, and is “at liberty to follow his artistic inclinations”. That statement is true: the contract is between Paderewski and Charles Tretbar, and Steinway & Sons functions only as a financial guarantor.
