Steinway & Sons annual workmen picnic is held for the first time at the private picnic area at Bowery Bay Beach. Over a thousand people – factory workers with their families and friends – assemble at Astoria factory and march with the band to Bowery Bay Beach, where they celebrate till after midnight.
