New York Tribune reports: “Yesterday afternoon a company of invited guests, including musicians and members of the press, visited the new piano manufactory of Steinway & Sons, on Fourth Avenue. The progress of this firm from the smallest beginning to its present eminence is interesting, and is the best proof which could be given of the excellence of their work and the uprightness of their mercantile transactions. The guests yesterday went leisurly through the building, partook of a collation, and listened with pleasure to various musical performances. These last were furnished by Messrs. Mills, Wallenhaupt, Lasar, Fradel, and Master Denck, a lad of thirteen years.”
