Strikers publish in New York Times a falsified version of events at the factory: “Mr. Steinway… received a lot of tramps from Philadelphia and other cities, and when the rest of the workmen saw these strange men brought into the shop, they resolved that the entire body of working men should go on strike.” The article also includes the falsified list of workers wages, aiming to prove that the average wage at Steinway & Sons factory is lower than that in the industry.
