There are 14 pianos in Steinway & Sons showroom, and several pianos are on loan to prominent New York musicians and public figures: conductors Carl Bergmann and Theodore Thomas, pianists William Mason, Hermann Wolhenhaupt and Gustav Satter, harpist Thomas Aptommas, reverend Henry Ward Beecher, the Honorable Judges Osborne and Mitchell, publisher Frank Leslie, and the music critic Mrs. James Gordon Bennett, wife of the publisher of New York Tribune.
