William Steinway’s diary: “E.H. Osborne, No. 1 Pemberton Square, Boston, arrives to Steinway Hall and states that “Chickering & Sons would like to make an arrangement with us by which both of us will not exhibit at Vienna. Boith Albert & Theodore are strongly in favor of such arrangement”.
