Back in New York, William Steinway edits the new catalog of Daimler Motor company. The catalog offers “Motor Quadricycle”, a light, elegant vehicle on four thin wheels, capable of carrying 2 persons at 12 mph. William Steinway thus becomes the first person in America to offer automobiles for sale, three years before Duryea brothers, Apperson brothers, and Elwood Haynes, and eight years before Henry Ford’s first car manufacturing company.
