The Minutes of the Board of Trustees of Steinway & Sons mention that the Steinway Church building has become too small for its purpose. William Steinway orders to provide more land for a new, bigger church building, and to donate a piano for the new church. The trustees agree to donate the old building for the free kindergarten at Steinway Village, and to convert the upper floor of the building into a free circulating library, stocked with books from the personal library of C.F. Theodor Steinweg. As can be seen from this note in the Minutes, Steinway & Sons Trustees unanimously approve the decision that had been made by William Steinway more than three weeks previously.
