Henry Ludwig Ziegler, son of Doretta Steinway and Jacob Ziegler, is born. His entire life will be dedicated to Steinway & Sons, and he will become the mentor of Steinway & Sons’ fourth president Theodore E. Steinway, as well as the designer of Steinway & Sons Model M and many other great pianos.
